W. J. Edwards Class Originally founded in 1938 by W. J. Edwards, we are a group of older adults who also enjoy a weekday breakfast twice each month. On Sunday mornings, we enjoy hymn singing and use the International Lesson Series - lecture style. President: Eunice Ireland |

Walter J. Miller Class Started more than 50 years ago by the then Rev. W. J. Miller, we are primarily retirees who are very active and caring people. We have a core of teachers and use both lecture and discussion formats. Every October, we enjoy a weekend trip to Lake Junaluska. President: Tom Robertson |

Friendship Class Our class is mostly made up of couples with grown children. We strive to have a social or service activity outside the Sunday School hour once a month. Our teaching form is a mix of lecture, Bible study and discussion. We're worth getting up for! President: Laura Fisher |

Seekers Class This is a fun, supportive group of late 20-somethings to 40-something couples & singles . Topical studies generally run 4-6 weeks although each Sunday's lesson is self-contained. Class members come together about once a quarter for various social gatherings including Valentine Day outing, family day at Carowinds, cookouts and a Christmas party. Shared babysitting is arranged for these events to encourage participation by those with small children. Come join us "Seeking" God on the 2nd floor of the Education Building. Breakthrough Class This is a small, intergenerational class and all lessons are discussion based. Each week, a different facilitator leads the discussion. This is a small but vocal class which has been meeting for 10+ years. President: Ann Nicholls |

Simply Women's Class We are a class comprised of women of all ages and backgrounds who gather to offer moral, emotional and spiritual support for one another. Our lessons are varied, some oriented to books, others to discussions and some topic driven. President: Bethanie Johnson |

| DISCIPLE Bible Study | The DISCIPLE Bible Study program is designed to develop strong Christian local churches through the in-depth study of the scripture. Through DISCIPLE, persons are strengthened in their faith and guided into service and ministry. Strong, biblically nourished leadership will help our church grow in vitality and Christian leadership. | Recreation | HLUMC has the oldest standing gym in Charlotte. You are welcome to play basketball in the gym on Monday and Thursday nights. The church supports two church league teams; softball in the spring and basketball in the winter months. For more information, please click here. |
