Sunday School The Children's Ministry offers care and nurture for children from birth through 5th grade. At Hawthorne Lane, we celebrate children as part of our worshiping community and honor the Biblical tradition of the importance of children. We offer age-level Sunday school classes for children age 2 through 5th grade. Children under age 2 are given loving care and attention in the infant and toddler nursery during the Sunday School and Worship hours. The children's facilities are very special and revolve around the theme of God's Wonderful World. Each room is centered around a theme such as underwater, the rain forest, or the artic. Each room also has special features to add to this theme, like a pond, an actual tree house and an iceberg. The children love each of these rooms and it provides a wonderful space for children to grow and learn about God. |

Children's Fellowship Children age 3 through 5th grade meet from 5-7:00 PM on Sundays during the school year for fellowship time. Activities include music, crafts, recreation, Bible study, and snack supper. A highlight each summer is our weeklong Music & Arts Camp for members as well as children in the community. The camp is open to rising 1st graders through 8th Graders. |

Music Younger children (3 yrs through 3rd grade) are encouraged to join the Children's Choir. This group meets at 9:30 on Sunday mornings in the Children’s Resource Room at the end of the 1st floor hallway. 4th & 5th graders are encouraged to join the handchime choir which rehearses at 4:00 on Sunday afternoons. The Joyful Noise Choir includes children & youth (5th through 12th grades) and performs often at the worship services and fellowship dinners. |

Child Care Your infant or toddler is always welcome in the nursery on the first floor of the Educational Building. Our nurseries are staffed each week by both paid nursery workers and by church volunteers. Our paid workers are required to be CPR certified as well as several key church volunteers. Pagers are available so parents can be reached during the service if needed and there is a phone in the nursery for emergencies. To get to the nursery from the sanctuary, take the elevator to Floor 1E. Turn left out of the elevator and through the door (code required after 11:05, see note below), the infant and toddler nursery is just across the hall. The preschool (2’s-5) nursery is the first door on the right. As a Safe Sanctuary church, all doors are locked at 11:05 AM so please see the sound technician or an usher to access the nursery during a worship service. |

Prayer Partners Prayer Partners with children ages 4 thru 5th grade are matched with adults who pray for children each day and share learning activities 3-4 times a year. |

| Hawthorne Lane is a SAFE SANCTUARY congregation. All church staff, paid nursery workers, and volunteers who work with children undergo background checks. Designated volunteers and all paid staff undergo CPR training. The church follows a careful process of security measures and rules in regards to the facility and adult supervision. | |
