It is our mission to bring Christ to the heart of the issue, as one copes with life experiences. We are here for you.
In addition to the resources listed below, our pastor can be reached by calling the church office (704-332-8131)
Our pastors and congregational members provide care visits to people
who are hospitalized or for people who are enduring difficulty. Due to
confidentiality laws, hospitals no longer notify churches or pastors when
a member is hospitalized, even when requested by the patient. If you,
or a member of your family, are admitted to the hospital or schedule a
hospital stay, please contact the church office by email or phone so that
our pastors and congregation may be notified.
Hawthorne Lane UMC has a group of members who serve as
Communion Visitors, sharing Communion with our homebound
and hospitalized members. Communion visits are coordinated and
scheduled every Wednesday; however, a different schedule can be
requested by our shut-in members. For more information on becoming
a Home Communion Visitor or to arrange a Home Communion visit,
contact the church office by email or phone.
The Chapel, at the back of the Sanctuary, is open before and
after all services for prayer, and silent prayer is the norm between
Sunday School and the eleven o’clock service on Sunday.
Prayer may not change things for you, but it sure changes you for things.”–Samuel M. Shoemaker
Hawthorne Lane Prayer Opportunities:
Thank You is my favorite Prayer.
Our biggest mistake is not praying.
Hawthorne Lane offers a Service of Healing on the 5th Sunday at the 11
o’clock Service throughout the year. This worship service focuses on the
healing love and power that God extends to all people. Included in the service
are the anointing with oil and laying on of hands, if desired.
Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one ministry to someone who is hurting (e.g., Care Receiver). It is quiet, confidential, compassionate, and provides a listening witness to the caring presence of Christ and His community.
