M3: music, mission, message

On Wednesday nights we offer programming for ages 3 – 5th grade. In this time together we focus on the 3 M’s – Music, Mission and Message. The kids will experience singing time as well as a Bible story and mission opportunities. We split the kids into 2 groups. Each group sings an anthem in church a couple times through the season. We have a lot of fun on Wednesday!

kids 501

This is a kid friendly worship service for 1st – 5th graders offered every Sunday except for Communion Sundays. The children meet in our Joy Outlook room and experience worship that touches upon diverse learning styles. In this service we experience quiet time, candle lighting, Scripture reading, open discussion journaling, Arts and crafts and videos shown on the topic of the day. It is a way to teach God’s word in a way that the kids can understand it thoroughly. This service is optional and all children are also welcome to stay in worship with their families.

missions

Children's missions at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church are important because they help instill a sense of compassion, empathy, and service in young children. By participating in missions, children learn about the needs of others and how they can make a positive impact in their community and the world. This early exposure to service and outreach can help shape children into caring, responsible, and engaged members of society as they grow older. Additionally, children's missions provide an opportunity for kids to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and a sense of purpose as they work together to make a difference in the lives of others.

music and theater camp

Music and theater camp is a great way for kids to explore their creative side and develop their talents. It provides a fun and supportive environment for kids to learn and grow as performers. Campers get to participate in a variety of activities such as singing, dancing, acting, and playing musical instruments. They also have the opportunity to work with experienced instructors and collaborate with other campers to put on a final performance at the end of the camp. Overall, music and theater camp is a fantastic way for kids to have fun, make friends, and gain valuable skills in the performing arts.

vacation bible school

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a week-long program where children come together, learn about their faith, and have fun in a supportive and nurturing environment. The theme for VBS 2024 is "Camp Firelight: A Summer Camp Adventure With God," which draws inspiration from Psalm 56:3. Children from 3 years old to rising 6th graders are invited to join us in songs, activities, games, and lessons that encourage them to put their trust in God.
